Solutions

Wolf Group is all around you in homes, offices, commercial buildings and factories. We offer construction and renovation solutions that solve the hydrothermal issues of buildings – heat loss, air-tightness, weather resistance, vapour-tightness, cold bridges and deformations – and therefore contribute to energy efficiency. In addition, the development of our products takes into account their durability over time and the contribution they make to a healthy indoor climate. Our philosophy is to keep people´s lives comfortable, safe and running smoothly.

01 Insulating window joint

In order to reduce heat loss/gain, the window joints must be sealed using materials with thermal conductivity as low as possible, such as PU foams. In addition to low thermal conductivity, the correctly applied PU foam ensures airtightness and reduces noise transmission.

Suitable products

02 Ensuring air- and vapour tightness

Window installation joint needs to be airtight to avoid heat losses through air leakages and vapour-tight to protect structure from excessive humidity, which can cause structure failures, cold bridges and mildew.

In order to guarantee air- and vapour tightness during the lifespan of the building, special tapes, membranes or mastics should be applied.

It has to be always considered, that a vapour- and airtight building must always have a high quality and specified ventilation solution.

Suitable products

03 Backing material for weathersealant

Backing material in the joint is needed to give the weathersealant correct depth and shape and avoid three-sided adhesion.

Suitable products

04 Weathersealing window perimeter

The key factors that façade weathersealant needs to cope with are protection from weathering, compensation of façade element movements and aesthetic appearance. Depending on the specific case, region, construction traditions, etc. the most suitable product from the list below should be chosen.

Suitable products

05 Glazing

The joint between the window frame and glass unit needs to be completely weatherproof and airtight. This is usually achieved with glazing gaskets or silicone. When using silicone products, they need to have sufficient movement capability to bear different deformations in the joint, without losing the elasticity or adhesion.

Suitable products

06 Window tin sealing

For complete weather protection, the window tin is normally sealed with a suitable product. The sealant needs to offer protection from weathering conditions such as rain and UV-radiation and provide lasting adhesion.

Suitable products

07 Protecting from wind, rain and snow

To ensure a tight and weatherproof joint between the window tin and wall, a tape with self-expanding properties can be successfully used. The usage of expanding tape also contributes to sound dampening.

Suitable products

08 Weatherproofing the joint under the window tin

To minimize the risk of water invasion into the structure, the joint under the window tin should be covered with waterproof membrane or mastics.

Suitable products

09 Windowsill installation

For fast and convenient installation of windowsill, one component PU foam adhesive can be successfully used. Good thermal insulation properties of the foam adhesive help to reduce the linear thermal conductivity of the window joint.

Suitable products

10 Internal finishing

For the correct and aesthetic end result, internal window perimeter is sealed and finished. Acrylic sealants are proper products to be used since they provide excellent workability for a clean and tight joint, can be overpainted with different paint systems and are elastic enough to withstand smaller deformations.

Suitable products

11 Gypsum board installation

For fast and convenient installation of gypsum boards, one component PU foam adhesive can be successfully used. Good thermal insulation properties of the foam adhesive help to reduce heat-losses and the risk of cold window sidings.

Suitable products

12 Adhering vapour membrane to wall

When fixing vapour membrane to wall structure, it must be considered that the connection needs to be airtight in order to prevent unplanned heat-leakages. Also, the adhesive needs to have excellent adhesion with non-porous vapour membranes and porous sub-surfaces.

Roofs & Façades

There are many different types of façade: glass systems; precast concrete panels with various types of finish; brickwork and stonework; metallic cladding; tiles; stone veneer panels; and more. They seal exterior wall joints against weathering such as UV, rainwater and driving rain and against other factors like chemical and mechanical loads that could eventually cause damage.

Concrete/masonry facade weathersealing

Sealing exterior wall joints of facades against the influence of weather is very important not only for esthetical reasons, but also to protect the building structure and to save energy. UV radiation, humidity, driving rain and influences of various other factors such as chemical and mechanical loads may eventually cause damage. There can be many different façade types, for example glass façade systems, precast concrete panels with various types of finishes, brickwork and stonework, metallic cladding, tiles and stone veneer panels, etc.

Floors

Filling floor joints and affixing floor covering materials correctly is important not only for aesthetic reasons, but also to protect the structure of the building and save energy. UV, humidity, water, temperature fluctuations and the influences of various other factors such as chemical and mechanical loads could eventually cause damage. To achieve the required results and the longevity of floor joints, it is important to follow the general installation requirements.

Concrete floor

Concrete flooring can be used either as the final flooring layer or covered with flooring material (e.g. carpet, tiles). A concrete floor with special treatment and finishing is also an option in modern home interiors. Concrete floors with shrinkage joints are commonly used for basements, garages, warehouses, patios, and utility areas. Such flooring is durable, long-lasting and easy to clean and maintain.

Floor covering with parquet

Parquet is definitely one of the most traditional floor coverings, which gives the room an additional elegance associated with real wood. Parquet is durable and can handle heavy loads and traffic. On the other hand, wood is a natural material that expands and contracts as the humidity balance and temperature of the room change. This must be taken into account when installing the parquet floor.

Sanitary

Building and renovating bathrooms and other sanitary rooms subject to higher levels of humidity and higher temperatures requires special attention. The combination of moisture and warmth creates the ideal living conditions for mould, while splashes of water on the floor or wall can damage the building structure. At the same time, a bathroom is a very personal space that needs to be clean, healthy and comfortable.

Priming, hydroinsulating and waterproofing of subsurfaces

When building or renovating wet rooms, special hydroinsulation products should be used to avoid moisture penetrating into structures and mould forming. Hydroinsulation products are applied directly to the floor or wall (i.e. on stone, concrete, waterproof veneer or another substrate) under the finishing layer (i.e. ceramic tiles, paint or other coverings).
