Turning Torso, a 190-metre skyscraper, is Sweden’s tallest residential building. The building, constructed in steel, glass and reinforced concrete, is structured in nine rotated cubes, whose main structural element is a reinforced concrete core. The glass and aluminium façade, due to the twisting of the building, is very complicated, making double curves. There are approximately 2,313 panels and 2,368 windows in the façade: the aluminium panels are curved, while the glass panels are flat. In the construction of Turning Torso, the relationship with the environment was very much taken into account. The building is powered by 100% locally produced renewable energy. It received the MIPIM award at the Cannes building fair in Cannes, France, that same year for the best residential building in the world.

Turning Torso, a 190-metre skyscraper, is Sweden’s tallest residential building.
