Celebrating 30 years of Wolf Group’s support for builders

Wolf Group is celebrating its 30th anniversary this autumn and is in a stronger and more prominent position than ever before.

Founded in 1994 by two visionary Estonians, the company has grown into a market leader, serving markets across 1/6th of the globe and exporting to 70 countries on all continents. Two university graduates and current owners Jaan Puusaag and Jaanus Paeväli aimed to create something significant and expand beyond their homeland. They invested their knowledge, energy and souls in it.

Starting as a trading company, Wolf Group has grown into a leading European manufacturer and distributor of chemical products and systems for construction. The company has worldwide expertise in the field of polyurethane foams, sealants, adhesives, fillers and coatings. Wolf Group has been helping its clients save energy since it sold its first can of foam: each sealed joint or filled crack guarantees the thermal insulation and airtightness of the building. It is Wolf Group’s mission to improve people’s quality of life by providing safe, energy-efficient, and environmentally friendly construction solutions.

A commitment to innovation and quality

Wolf Group is at the forefront of innovation. Over the years, the group has invested heavily in R&D to achieve the best properties for installation foams and sealants for every climate zone; its fine-tuned products are compatible with country-specific regulations and building traditions. The company holds numerous patents, including an easy-to-use applicator and nozzle for dosing construction foam and a spatula for smoothing sealant joints. 100% of its product and tool development has been carried out in the laboratories of its own production units in Estonia and Spain, implementing complicated formulas that enable the Group to produce 1200 foam formulations annually in one factory alone. 30 new sealant or adhesive formulas are created every year, and there are more than 100 of them in Wolf Group’s portfolio, half of which are used to produce its own brands, such as PENOSIL, while the rest are new developments for our partners under their trademarks. Last year, Wolf Group acquired technical aerosol production as part of its strategy to increase its production capacity globally.

Solutions tailored for every need

Wolf Group products may be used, depending on the site or situation, either separately or as a system of products. In general, the building sector is moving to the solution-based approach, where Wolf Group’s flagship brand, Penosil, provides a remarkable portfolio for key tasks, from window installation and sealing to sanitary and decoration jobs for building professionals, home users and Industry clients. All our solutions come together with step-by-step guidelines and architectural drawings. In addition to industrial-grade formulations, top performance and the best user experience, it is important to product developers that the solutions last and do not need to be repaired or redone every year.

Driving change in a regulated industry

Wolf Group is strongly reshaping the building chemicals industry, which is one of the most regulated areas. This year, the company opened the first-ever PU foam factory in Spain. The facility has been equipped with the most advanced technology and will be capable of manufacturing numerous foam combinations, including low-MDI, and no-MDI foams: Wolf Group is at the forefront of very-low-MDI innovation. Europe’s first low-diisocyanate monomer content spray foam, which combines a high-performing formulation with a spray nozzle, is already a success story. In the coming year, a range of new low-MDI foams will be launched, including a B2 gun foam, a B2 spray foam and a foam adhesive.

Wolf Group has seven green goals, constantly increasing the use of environmentally friendly raw materials, reducing waste, etc. All its products are produced using 100% renewable energy. In 2023, the group launched the ECO range, becoming the first in the global market to create a whole product range: filling foam, siliconized acrylic, and mounting adhesive. All products are covered by environmental product declarations (EPDs).

The heart of Wolf Group: its people

The most important component in Wolf Group’s success is its people, the Wolf pack. The group has entities in 14 countries, and their meet-ups with sports activities, music and dance are eagerly awaited by everyone. One of the Wolf Group’s values is that it must be fun and 400+ wolves follow this principle with joy and laughter.

Wolf Group is stronger than ever and keeping its eyes open to what’s happening on the market. It is ready for new opportunities and will grab hold of them.
